Ann Frances Duncan

Born January 17, 1920 in Seattle, WA; died November 21, 2012. Loving mother of Craig (Stephanie), Nancy Holmes (Dick), Kathy Ricks, Thomas (Susan), Lucy Shay (Mike), and Marcia Blas (Francisco); grandmother of Megan, Louisa, Michael, Patrick Holmes, Merrin Cenicola-Myers (Matt), Kayla Duncan, Dylan Shay, Vincent and Benjamin Blas. Great grandmother to Elliott and Kendall Myers. Also survived by her sister, Jane Macready, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Ann was one gracious lady who always had time for others. Faith, family and hospitality were the guiding principles in her life. She instilled in her family a sense of gratitude and a sense of humor and modeled both throughout her own life. Her home was a place of welcome. She listened well to her children's hopes and dreams, placing them first and foremost in her life through encouraging words and support. Well-known for her Mac & Cheese casseroles and her incredible lemon meringue pies at holiday meals, she always had a chocolate frosted angel food cake on the top of refrigerator and chocolate ice cream in the freezer ready to be swirled into a chocolate milkshake for any visitors and especially for her grandchildren. Preceded in death in 2001, by Paul, her loving husband of 57 years; in 1988 by her daughter, Kathy Ricks and in 2008 by her son, Tom Duncan. Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, November 30th, at 10:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., BOTH at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3401 S. W. Myrtle St., Seattle, WA 98126. Reception following. Interment, Holyrood Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St., Shoreline, WA 98155. Remembrances may be made to The Maryknoll Sisters.
