Born in Bremerton, Washington September 15, 1931 and died peacefully at home Thanksgiving November 22, 2012. Survived by his wife of 45 years, Rose E. (DeLeo) Morris and daughters, Christine Geddis and Angela Wray; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Nathan, Meagan and Winona Geddis; brothers, Jim, Bob and John; sisters, Morrie Anderson, Peggy Milnes, Cabrini Gamache and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his sisters, Anne Hunzaker and Kathleen Miller.
Tom was the son of Joe Morris and Marie (Bashaw) Morris. He was raised in the Northwest and attended Seattle Prep and Seattle University. Tom enlisted in the Navy at the start of the Korean War, served four years where he developed his love of naval aviation and history. After serving in the Navy he returned to Seattle and attended Seattle University. While at SU he was active in the Hiyu Coulee hiking club where he developed many lifelong friendships and where he met his wife.
Tom worked for the Boeing Company, The New Zealand Ministry of Works, Olympic Foundry and Vericast Foundry. Upon retirement he volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Museum of Flight as a docent.
Tom was a lifelong Catholic, loved his family and many friends. He enjoyed the outdoors skiing, hiking and climbing. He taught many of his friends to climb, Mount Rainier being his favorite.
A Vigil Service will be held Thursday, November 29th, at 7:00pm at Hoffner Fisher & Harvey Chapel Seattle, Washington Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 30th, at 11:00am at Christ the King Church, Seattle. Internment at Holyrood Cemetery, Shoreline, WA.
